GMB’s strike ballot across the Scottish Ambulance Service closed yesterday, Monday 31st October 2022. Thank you to all our members who participated in the ballot.
Following receipt of the scrutineers report this morning, GMB can confirm that a statutory mandate for strike action has been secured by members within the Scottish Ambulance Service. 89% of members who voted, are prepared to take part in strike action.
A significant mandate has been secured by our membership and it sends a clear message to the Scottish Government that more must be done on pay, not just to confront the cost-of-living crisis but to tackle the chronic understaffing crisis in our frontline services.
Your GMB Reps will now meet to discuss our next steps and begin the planning process for action.
